First Hug!

We were young and shy
And still new at this
Boy, time really does fly
All we can do is reminisce

It was the first time
You held my hand
I was so in love
That I couldn't withstand

With every smile,
You made my heart jump
With every laugh,
You made my heart giggle

We were alone for the first time
And held hands and talked
I couldn't help but notice
Your warm hands fit perfectly with mine

We were about to say goodbye
You were holding something
I asked you to put it down before I could cry
And then we finally hugged

I hugged you like it would be the last
You hugged me the same way
You whispered, "I"ll never let you go"
And we held onto each other

We finally let go and smiled
We both looked into each other's eyes
And felt the same way
It was the best day ever

Our first hug
That I shall treasure forever.
